When does the event start?

Doors for the Dare to Defend Conference will open at 6:15 PM Friday, March 25. You will have an opportunity to browse tables from some of our speakers and purchase their books, DVDs, and other materials.


On Saturday morning, the doors will open at 7:45 AM. The complete Scheudle is below.

Will there be tickets available at the door?

Because of the size of the venue, seating for this event is limited to 400 people. In the unlikely event we haven't sold out, tickets may be purchased at the door.

What are the group discounts for the event?

Groups of ten or more people who purchase tickets together will receive a discounted admission for both days of $25.00 per ticket. Simply select the "Group Admission" option when purchasing your tickets here.

Who are the speakers for the conference?

Dr. J.P. Moreland
Dr. J.P. Moreland

J.P. Moreland is distinguished professor of philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. He received a B.S. in physical chemistry from the University of Missouri, a Th.M. in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, an M.A. in philosophy from the University of California at Riverside, and a Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Southern California.  He has authored, edited, or contributed to ninety-five books, including Love God with All Your Mind and Scientism and Secularism. Moreland was recently proclaimed by The Best Schools as one of the 50 most influential living philosophers.

Dr. Sean McDowell
Dr. Sean McDowell

Author, speaker, & Biola apologetics professor Dr. Sean McDowell is a gifted communicator with a passion for equipping the church, and in particular young people, to make the case for the Christian faith. He connects with audiences in a tangible way through humor and stories while imparting hard evidence and logical support for viewing all areas of life through a Biblical worldview.

Ken Samples

Philosopher and theologian Kenneth Richard Samples has a great passion to help people understand the reasonableness and relevance of Christianity’s truth claims. Through his writing and speaking as senior research scholar at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he encourages believers to develop a logically defensible faith and challenges skeptics to engage Christianity at a philosophical worldview level.

Lenny Esposito
Lenny Esposito

Author, speaker, and debater Lenny Esposito has been spreading convincing Christianity across the globe by stirring the hearts and minds of the lost and the church for over twenty years. A pioneer in online apologetics with his popular www.ComeReason.org web site and podcast, Lenny has also contributed to books such as the award-winning Apologetics Study Bible for Students (B&H, 2010), A New Kind of Apologist (Harvest House, 2016), and True Reason: Confronting the Irrationality of the New Atheism (Kregel, 2014). His articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Times and the Southern California Christian Times.

Dr. Jacob Daniel
Dr. Jacob Daniel

Dr. Jacob Daniel received his pre-doctoral degree in India and did advanced studies in International Development at the University of Manchester (UK). He studied theology at the University of Oxford. Jacob holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies as well as a Master's degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Born and raised in India, Jacob’s specific interest is in the area of cultural analysis and the role and relevance of Christian faith in the public life. Jacob’s speaking engagements have taken him across the globe to address topics such as culture and transformation, faith in the Public Square, cultural apologetics, and theology and mission in the 21st century.

Claudia Kalmikov
Claudia Kalmikov

Claudia Kalmikov holds a B.A. in Business with a concentration in sales from California State University Fullerton and an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Talbot Seminary. She blogs at Straight Talk With Claudia Kis on the speaking team for the Biola On The Road Apologetics conferences, and teaches the women’s Bible studies at her church.

Claudia has been a repeat guest on the KKLA radio show Real Life With Gina Pastore and David James and her blog posts have been published multiple times in The Poached Egg online apologetics magazine. She is also a contributing writer, speakerand member of Women In Apologetics. Claudia has a background in corporate sales, spent 21 years raising two sons, and now teaches apologetics in the hopes of making an eternal impact in the world for Christ.

Ken Samples
John Kalmikov

John received his B.A. in Business Administration/Finance from California State University Fullerton in 1983. He has earned his living in commercial real estate for 38 years, as a developer and an apartment broker/Investor. In 2016, he earned a M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Talbot Seminary at Biola University, and speaks and teaches apologetics. John has been married to Claudia for 36 years and together, they have two grown sons. His hobbies are boating, hiking and cycling. He is known as the cycling trail evangelist.

Dr. R. Scott Smith

R Scott Smith, Ph.D. (USC), is Professor of Ethics and Christian Apologetics in Biola’s M.A. - Christian Apologetics program. He is the author of Authentically Emergent: In Search of a Truly Progressive Christianity, In Search of Moral Knowledge, and Naturalism and Our Knowledge of Reality.
